We're currently seeking Chefs for our "NEW" wine bar and lounge.
Candidates will work full time at VintEdge Wine Bar and Lounge in Somerville, NJ.
Established New Jersey Restaurant/Bar operators are opening a unique and refreshing Wine Bar & Lounge in Somerville, NJ. We will be focusing on delivering the highest customer service to our patrons and will be hiring for all positions. We are looking to create a passionate team with a tremendous amount of focus on product and service.
Applicants must be experienced in the Restaurant/Bar industry.

Set up and stock all food stations with necessary supplies
Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities
Modify menus or create new ones that meet quality standards
Estimate food requirements and food/labor costs
Supervise kitchen staff’s activities
Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs along with the GM
Recruit and manage Kitchen Staff
Prep all needed food items for service
With direction to the kitchen staff, proper execution of menu items
Ensure that all food is made in a timely fashion and always in high quality
Certify that all nutrition and sanitation regulations are kept
Follow clear direction in food preparation and storing
Determine how to present the food. Customers eat with their eyes prior to their palette
Ensure uniform serving sizes, quality of meals and pricing
Ensure that all food is ready for meal preparations
Check Freshness of food and ingredients
Order and maintain inventory of food and supplies
Previous experience desired:
Clear understanding of menu items
Understand and responsible for prepping ingredients
Strong grasp on various cooking methods, food items, equipment, etc.
Be able to multitask in a high-volume kitchen
Responsible for delegating all responsibilities to all Kitchen Team Members for all food preparation needs
Strong listening skills in order to hear and understand specific directions on food prep
Understand the English language in order to execute recipes
Clear communication skills in order to communicate food orders among coworkers
Attendance of a two or four-year program with a degree in a culinary related field desired but not required
Be able to handle hot and cold work conditions during food preparation
Continuous: reaching, bending, lifting, carrying
Be able to stand and be on foot for the majority of the scheduled shift
Be able to use manual dexterity to cut/chop/cook/prepare food
-Nights and weekends availability required
