Currently we are seeking to hire a Full-time Utilities Bill Auditor to report to our corporate headquarters in Piscataway, NJ.


The successful candidate will be experienced and familiar with all aspects of utility billing auditing for multiple residential communities, as well as commercial and business properties, including our own corporate headquarters. The ideal individual will also have a record of success in a similar role focused on gathering data, conducting billing verifications and analysis as well as in identifying and remedying billing errors, when they are discovered. This position reports directly to Edgewood Properties’ accounting department management and interfaces with utility company billing department representatives. Strong communication, math/accounting skills and detail orientation are all essential.  Previous familiarity with utility billing is a must.

+ Review all monthly utilities billing for multiple properties and verify the preciseness of all rates/charges billed for.

+ Identify, report and take an active role in rectifying any billing discrepancies discovered.

+ Interface with utility providers to obtain appropriate information to successfully audit bills; implement billing error corrections; and or seek refund opportunities.

+ Creating and maintaining reports for tracking and resolutions purposes.






+2-4 years of related experience in an auditing or accounting role.

+Solid mathematical and accounting skills.

+The agility to grasp and explain relevant utility billing issues to other company managers and employees.

+Proven strong oral and written communication skills, and the demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence decision makers.

+Must be well organized and detail minded.

+Able to independently solve problems and think in linear patterns.

+Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

+Intermediate or advanced Excel skills using that ability for recordkeeping and reporting.

+College degree with an accounting or business major, preferred.
